Professor Bambang Irawan obtained his Medical Doctor Degree from Faculty of Medicine Universitas Gadjah Mada in 1971. He graduated Internist at the same university in 1981. He was awarded Consultant of Cardiovascular Medicine from Indonesian Association of Internal Medicine in 1996. His Cardiologist residency at National Cardiovascular Center Harapan Kita, Jakarta, Indonesia was acomplished in 2004 and Consultant of Clinical Cardiology was conferred in 2005. Since 2007, he was Professor in Cardiology and Vascular Medicine in Universitas Gadjah Mada. He was the first Head of Department of Cardiology and Vascular Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Gadjah Mada (2004 – 2009). His area of interests are clinical cardiology, arrhytmias and cardiac rehabilitation. Currently, he is active in teaching and mentoring young cardiologists.
